Florida DoctorsEdmund Guy Grant JrUser Reviews of Physician (1)
byEric Randall, September 22, 2009
Dr. Grant was unusually pro-active in his handling of my care. After I was sent to him for a spinal tap, he thoroughly assessed my condition, and instead of automatically going along with my doctor (who had reasonable cause to send me to him), instead he looked at my overall health, reasons for the visit, probabilities of serious illness versus the risk involved in a spinal tap, my own thoughts about it, contributing factors, and then recommended against it (a departure from the CYA approach of many other physicians). He didn't stop there; he looked at a recent MRI which had an 'area of concern' noted by the local (and very capable) radiologist, but consulted with a radiologist he had long worked with and came to the conclusion that it was pulmonary artifact (basically a false image in the MRI). In viewing my films, he further noted possible pulmonary nodules in my lungs and wanted to compare more past films (MRI and CT) and came to the conclusion that this also was artifact. Knowing that I was seven years past a bout with stomach cancer, I was extremely appreciative that he did all of this with no repeat visits from me which avoided the associated costs involved; rather, this was all work 'behind the scenes' on my behalf. I highly recommend this specialist to say the least.
